Frequently Asked Questions — Diatex Diabetic Foot Care

About Our Products

Q: Are Diatex socks medically approved?
A: Diatex socks are designed based on established diabetic foot care principles and manufactured under quality-controlled conditions. We are a registered trademark brand with over six years of use by diabetic patients across India. For specific medical advice about your condition, always consult your doctor or podiatrist.

Q: What makes Diatex different from regular socks sold at shops?
A: Regular socks are designed for healthy feet. They have tight elastic bands that restrict circulation, rough toe seams that cause friction, and synthetic materials that trap moisture. Every single one of these features is dangerous for diabetic feet. Diatex socks eliminate all three — non-binding tops, seamless construction, and moisture-wicking breathable yarn.

Q: Can non-diabetic people use Diatex socks?
A: Absolutely. Anyone with sensitive feet, poor circulation, neuropathy from other causes, bunions, hammertoes, or post-surgical foot conditions benefits from Diatex socks. Our Temple Socks and Insole Padded Socks are also popular with elderly patients regardless of diabetes.

Q: Do you use any harmful chemicals or dyes in your products?
A: Our socks are latex-free and made with skin-safe dyes. The Aloe Bedtime Socks use food-grade aloe vera micro-encapsulation. The Wound Care Socks use medical-grade silver-infused yarn. If you have a specific allergy or sensitivity, WhatsApp us before purchasing and we will advise accordingly.

Q: I have both neuropathy and swollen feet — which sock do I choose?
A: Our Separate Toe Diabetic Socks have a non-binding top that accommodates mild swelling while protecting neuropathic feet. For significant oedema, WhatsApp us — we may recommend a specific variant or combination.

Sizing & Fit

Q: How do I measure my foot size correctly?
A: Stand on a piece of paper. Mark the heel and the tip of your longest toe. Measure the distance between the two marks in centimetres. Use this measurement against our size chart on each product page. Always measure while standing — feet spread slightly under body weight.

Q: What if my foot measurement falls between two sizes?
A: Always choose the larger size. A slightly larger sock is always safer than a slightly smaller one — a tight sock is dangerous for diabetic feet regardless of how small the difference.

Q: My feet are different sizes — one larger than the other. What should I do?
A: This is more common than most people realise. Always size for the larger foot. If the difference is significant, WhatsApp us — we can advise on mixed-size options for certain products.

Q: I have very wide feet. Will your socks fit?
A: Our non-binding top band design accommodates wider feet better than standard socks. For very wide feet or significant oedema, go one size up from your foot length measurement. If uncertain, contact us before ordering.

Q: The sock feels slightly loose on first wear — is this normal?
A: Yes — our non-binding design intentionally avoids the tight elastic of regular socks. After 1–2 wears the sock settles to your foot shape. If the sock is falling down or bunching, size down.

Care & Maintenance

Q: How should I wash Diatex socks?
A: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle using mild detergent. Air dry — tumble drying on high heat damages the yarn structure and reduces the life of cushioning and any infused treatments. Do not bleach.

Q: How often should I replace my diabetic socks?
A: Every 3–4 months for everyday socks. The top band loses elasticity, cushioning compresses, and antimicrobial treatments reduce in effectiveness. Worn-out diabetic socks are worse than no socks — they create false security without real protection. Our quarterly subscription ensures automatic timely replacement.

Q: The Aloe Bedtime Socks seem to be losing their moisturising effect — is this normal?
A: Yes — the aloe micro-encapsulation is active for approximately 30–40 washes. After this, the socks continue to function as comfortable, seamless bedtime socks but without the active aloe release. Replace at the 30–40 wash mark for continued moisturising benefit.

Q: Can I iron Diatex socks?
A: No — do not iron. Heat damages the yarn, cushioning, and any infused treatments. Air dry and store flat or rolled loosely.

Q: How many pairs should I keep in rotation?
A: Minimum 3 pairs per type you use regularly. One being worn, one drying, one spare. This is especially important for Wound Care and Stump Socks which must be washed daily.

Subscription

Q: How does the Diatex quarterly subscription work?
A: You choose your products and quantity, select the subscription option at checkout, and your order is automatically processed and delivered every 3 months. You save 15% on every delivery. No contracts — pause or cancel anytime from your account.

Q: Can I change what products I receive each quarter?
A: Yes — you can modify your subscription products, quantities, or delivery date from your Diatex account at any time before the next order processes.

Q: What if I want to skip a delivery?
A: Log in to your account, go to Subscriptions, and select Skip Next Delivery. You can do this up to 7 days before your scheduled delivery date.

Q: Is there a minimum subscription period?
A: No minimum. You can cancel after your first delivery if needed — though most subscribers continue because they never want to risk running out.
